Hartford HealthCare Rehabilitation Network’s aquatic rehabilitation program was developed as an alternative method of rehabilitation and conditioning for individuals who may not tolerate traditional land-based therapy, as exercise can be more easily performed due to the buoyant effects of water.

Aquatic Therapy

Aquatic therapy is also effective as a tool during the rehabilitation process following a variety of orthopedic surgical procedures.

The Aquatic Rehabilitation Program

The program is conducted by certified athletic trainers, certified strength and conditioning specialists and physical therapists. The athlete’s progress is monitored to ensure full utilization of skills and proper technique throughout the program.
