Hartford HealthCare Sports Medicine is committed to the health and safety of athletes of all ages and abilities. The Hartford HealthCare Sports Medicine team provides care coordination throughout our system, managing sports related conditions with primary care, urgent care, specialized orthopedic care, and rehabilitation services.

Hartford HealthCare Sports Medicine provides coverage to numerous high schools around the state, as well as tournaments and available on a fee-for service, hourly or annual contract basis.

Athletic trainers provide:

• Athletic injury prevention education
• Practice, game, and event coverage
• Evaluation of athletic injuries
• Treatment and referral of athletic injuries
• Rehabilitation of athletic injuries
• Coordinated care to system providers
• Return to play guidelines following athletic injuries

Strength and Conditioning

Hartford HealthCare Rehabilitation can help you attain your physical performance goals or help you return to peak performance with the help of our Strength and Conditioning Services. These certified specialists run various programs at local high schools and through the Bridge Program to help athletes improve their performance and reduce injuries. These programs are available on a fee-for-service and annual contract basis.

Strength and Conditioning Services Include:

• Community Camp and Combines
• Individual/Team Performance Testing


Our Team:

As defined, Athletic Trainers (ATs) are health care professionals who collaborate with physicians to provide preventative services, emergency care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions. Hartford HealthCare Athletic Trainers are certified by the Board of Certification (BOC) and also hold a professional license in the State of Connecticut.
